Sally O’Brien of the Episcopal Church Building Fund will be here for lunch and discussion. Sally will join us for church. From 12:45PM to 1:45PM she will share her ideas and then we’ll have some time to share ideas. The program will end at 2PM. More information about this organization, Episcopal Church Building Fund, can be found at the website ecbf.org.
Sally will help us to think about what we will want to be doing as a parish in the next several decades. She writes “Our church buildings are more than bricks and mortar, they should be the heartbeat of mission and service, not the heartache of history and loss. As congregations find a role in their community, they can also find creative and innovative ways to sustain themselves financially.” How can we become the heartbeat of mission and service in Port Royal?

“The Incredulity of Thomas" – Duccio, di Buoninsegna (1308-11)
"A week later his disciples were again in the house, and Thomas was with them. Although the doors were shut, Jesus came and stood among them and said, "Peace be with you." Then he said to Thomas, "Put your finger here and see my hands. Reach out your hand and put it in my side. Do not doubt but believe." Thomas answered him, "My Lord and my God!" Jesus said to him, "Have you believed because you have seen me? Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have come to believe." – John 20: 26-29
