Serving God and the church.  Please sign up on the bulletin insert and place it in the offering plate this week .  We will have trainings for each of these positions .  

Our annual congregational meeting and Vestry election will be taking place today.  

The Week of Prayer for Christian Unity is from Jan 18-25. The theme is “Has Christ Been Divided?  Those dates cover the original days of the feasts of the Chair of St. Peter (January 18) and the Conversion of St. Paul (January 25) The Bible readings and prayers for the week are published on our website at churchsp.org. Services will be held Jan. 21, 7:30pm at the United Methodist Church in Fredericksburg.  

The 219th Diocesan Annual Council is this week Thurs. Jan 23-25. The theme is “Awake My Soul: Stretch Every Nerve. ” Eunice and Catherine will be representing St. Peter’s.   Read your copy of the Virginia Episcopalian about this concept of Stretching.  The State of the Diocese presentation on Friday morning will showcase interesting and inspiring examples of how parishes and individuals are spreading the Word. 

That “Crazy Christian” – From Jan. 27- Feb 3 the Rt. Rev. Michael Curry, Bishop of the Diocese of North Carolina, will teach "The Big Class" on the internet  – it is free.  Curry preached a widely acclaimed sermon at the last General Convention -“We Need Some Crazy Christians.”  It became a book and now it will be expanded into a class. The Souperbowl is coming again in Feb . 2014 to combat hunger in our region. The money we collect will be distributed to Glory Outreach for Caroline County. Food will go to the Caroline Co. Dept of Social Services.

The two disciples heard him say this, and they followed Jesus. When Jesus turned and saw them following, he said to them, "What are you looking for?"
