The Week of Prayer for Christian Unity is from Jan 18-25. The theme is “Has Christ Been Divided?  Those dates cover the original days of the feasts of the Chair of St. Peter (January 18) and the Conversion of St. Paul (January 25). The Bible readings and prayers are on churchsp.org.

  

Serving God and the church.  Please sign up on the bulletin insert and place it in the offering plate this week or next.  We will have trainings for each of these positions.   

 

Our annual congregational meeting and Vestry elections will take place next Sunday, Jan. 19.  Come hear the stories of all that we have accomplished as a parish during this past year and to receive updates on our life together as a parish. 

 

Vestry nominations—During the Congregational  meeting  we will elect two new Vestry members.  Johnny Davis and Roger Key have both offered to stand for election.  Additional nominations can be made by calling Laura Carey (804) 742-5022, or Fred Pannell (804) 742-5302.  Please make sure the person you would like to nominate is willing to run before you nominate that person.

 

That “Crazy Christian” – From Jan. 27- Feb 3 the Rt. Rev. Michael Curry, Bishop of the Diocese of North Carolina, will teach "The Big Class" on the internet  – it is free.  Curry preached a widely acclaimed sermon at the last General Convention -“We Need Some Crazy Christians.”  It became a book and now it will be expanded into a class.
