Feasting with Jesus: Sept 12, 6pm – “Jesus on the Beach”. We’ll be learning about commercial fishing and the lives of fishermen around the Sea of Galilee. We’ll be eating food that would have been common at the time, prepared and served in the much the same way that it would have been in the time of Jesus.  Please let Catherine know if you are planning to attend so that the proper amount of food can be prepared.

Bread recipes   In honor of “Jesus on the Beach” the “Bread Retreat” later in the month, we will be collecting bread recipes at churchsp.org/addrecipes, or through email to Catherine. Handwritten recipes are also fine. They will be published online to be shared.

The Thirteen, the Renaissance and Baroque vocal group will be at St. Peter’s, Oct 22, 7pm.  The concert will be free but we are looking for donations to help cover the cost. Please consider a donation, drop it in the offering plate or mail it to St Peter’s. SIXTEENTH Sunday after Pentecost

September 8, 2013, 11am

 “Climb That Hill”

“Now large crowds were traveling with Jesus; and he turned and said to them, "Whoever comes to me and does not hate father and mother, wife and children, brothers and sisters, yes, and even life itself, cannot be my disciple. Whoever does not carry the cross and follow me cannot be my disciple. For which of you, intending to build a tower, does not first sit down and estimate the cost, to see whether he has enough to complete it?” –Luke 14:25-28
