Way to Go, St Peter’s!  We made almost $600 on July 4th by providing food for the Port Royal Independence Day celebration.  This money will be used to support Episcopal Church Women missions around the world.

We revised both the visitors’ and historical brochures for July 4. We have some copies in the back and also online at churchsp.org under newcomers.  There are also 7 copies of Forward Movement for July.

Next week the Gospel passage is the “Good Samaritan”, one of the most famous stories in the Bible and one that only appears in Luke. There is a review of it on churchsp.org this week.

Sending Out of the Seventy

“Go on your way. See, I am sending you out like lambs into the midst of wolves. Carry no purse, no bag, no sandals; and greet no one on the road. Whatever house you enter, first say, `Peace to this house!’ And if anyone is there who shares in peace, your peace will rest on that person; but if not, it will return to you…. Whenever you enter a town and its people welcome you, eat what is set before you; cure the sick who are there, and say to them, `The kingdom of God has come near to you.’”  – Luke 10:3-6, 8-9
