This Sunday we are blessing a stole before it is sent off to Afghanistan to one of the 41 chaplains there. You can include a personal note of thanks. We are also passing around a card that you can sign to go with the stole.
This Sunday is Souper Bowl Sunday, a national fundraising drive project involving food in conjunction with the NFL. The cans of food and money that you bring will be collected in the soup pots that the children will be passing around after church. Any checks can be made to St Peter’s with Souper Bowl noted on the memo line. The money will go to Glory Outreach in Bowling Green and the food to Caroline Social Services. Last year, our first effort, we collected $286 and 50 food items.
Please collect your boxtops in the colorful cans for the children’s “Box Tops for Education project.
Please consider a donation to the Tools for the Sudan Project, A Region One project. Buy an agricultural or fishing tool from the shopping cart outside the church on the bulletin board or online (churchsp.org/toolsforthesudan) for as little as $10 and support new residents from the north starting a new life in South Sudan & Region One’s own missionary, Larry Duffee. Churchsp.org this week has a story from Larry on why this project is important
“Emergence Christianity – Christianity for Our Time?” – Adult Education concludes next Sunday, 9:45am in the Parish House. We will look at a variety of spiritual practices, many ancient in origin that are being revived.

“Brow of the Hill Near Nazareth” – James Tissot (1886-1894)
“When they heard this, all in the synagogue were filled with rage. They got up, drove him out of the town, and led him to the brow of the hill on which their town was built, so that they might hurl him off the cliff. But he passed through the midst of them and went on his way” – Luke 4:29-30
