Village Harvest, August 2019

August 21, 2019. was the lowest Village Harvest in terms of clients served since June 2016. 70 people came. For the year we have served 894 which is below year to date in 2018 (972) and well as in 2017 (1162). In 2018 and 2017 people were called which we no longer do.

However, the supply has been plentiful – total food sources for 2019 total 11,017 pounds compared to 10,617 (2018) and 9,945 (2017). Pounds were person has increased from 11 in 2018 to over 12. The value per shopper is also improved – the second highest in 4 years at $78 based on $6 per pound.

We had a mixture of meats (chicken, bacon, sausage, tuna) and vegetables (squash, corn, peas, carrots), fruits (peaches) and as well as breads (crackers, cereal).
