Village Harvest Food Distribution, June 20, 2018

We has seen a drop in clients – from April (153) to May (112) and June (100). The rainy weather was a factor in May and possibly in June as well.

For the first 6 months in 2018, we have served 600 people compared to 709 in 2017 (Since we canceled March’s due to weather we eliminated March for the comparison with the other years). The 2016 figure is 522. We are thus down about 15% so far in 2018 from 2017 though 15% higher than 2016.

Food was also down in pounds and type. Last month (May) we provided 2,140 pounds and only 600 in June. Out of the 600, produce was only 214 pounds compared to 1,679 pounds in May .  There was no meat available in June. However, not counted in the June figures were additional items – Spaghetti Noodles, Spaghetti Sauce, Beans, Corn and Mac N Cheese.  With what we can count it was 6 pounds of produce per person with an estimated value of $36 not counting the additional items.
