Village Harvest, Feb. 21, 2018 (full size gallery)

February’s Village Harvest’s draw was 150 well above Jan at 86. The weather in February was warm in the 60’s under bright sunlight which also helped.  We would like to thank Cookie and Johnny for picking up the food and all those who came to unload and then organize the food from the church.

The February totals were above a year ago at 110 and 2016 at 100 but below clients from July to December which ranged from 163 to 213. This year people are not being called before the Harvest unlike last year.

Foods provided included whole chicken, red potatoes  tiny carrots squash  limes.  Crackers, canned tuna, vanilla wafers, peanut butter, toilet paper and kitchen supplies- palmolive dish washing soap.

The costs of food provided was $217.66. 10.39 pounds were provided for each person, the second highest number of pounds over the year.  The value per shopper was $62.32, also the second highest value over the year.  It is well worth a trip to the Village Harvest on the third Wednesday of every month at St. Peter’s.
