Vacation Bible School, 2016

This year, Becky Fisher is leading Vacation Bible School with a program that focuses on the resurrection of Jesus.

 Day 1, July 18

 Day 2, July 19

The children are hearing and learning about the Bible stories in which Jesus appears to his friends after this resurrection. Each day, the children go to various stations and open Easter eggs, which contain objects that have significance for the story that they are about to hear. They are experiencing the resurrection events through their senses. They have smelled some spices as a reminder of the fact that the women took spices to the tomb with which to anoint the body of Jesus. They have broken bread and eaten it while hearing the story of the disciples meeting Jesus on the road to Damascus. Crafts have included making cards and also prayer bracelets. Everyone is learning some new songs and enjoying games.

Tuesday afternoon also included acolyte training for some of the older children:

A big thank you goes to Eunice Key, Elizabeth Heimbach, Betty Kunstmann, and Cookie and Johnny Davis for providing lunch for the children each day at the end of VBS. Thank you to all who have helped—Judy Fox, Elizabeth Long, Cookie Davis, Eunice Key, and Andrea Pogue.

In particular, thanks for Elizabeth, Catherine and Cookie for taking photos during the week. The galleries below are a combination of their efforts.

Here is some of our support behind the scenes working on "hunting for hearts" for day 3

Some of the families that gave up their kids for the week. Many thanks! These three families also have the next generation of children growing up !
