Catherine announced in Church that St. Peter’s is the recipient of a $900 Mustard Seed Grant from the Diocese of Virginia. It is intended to cover half of the anticipated cost of 6 community dinners for the town of Port Royal. The first one was held June 4, 2011 which was supported by the ECW Evening group and the ECM.
Mustard Seed grants are awarded in four broad areas: youth and college ministries, local outreach, world mission, and strengthening local churches. Because of the impact of the current economic situation on individuals and families, preference was given in 2011 to projects that in some way address the alleviation of human need and associated items.
