Welcome to St. Peter’s! Our hope is that you will find God’s love present with you in this place and that you will return here often.
Happy Birthday – Betty Kunstmann (Jan. 9)
Why are we still singing Christmas hymns? In our Christian tradition, the season of Christmas lasts for twelve days. During this time, we marvel that God would come to dwell as one of us. And so, on this second and last Sunday of the Christmas season, we continue to celebrate the miracle of Jesus’ birth in our hymnody.
The Feast of the Epiphany, which marks the close of the Christmas season, reminds us that in response to this miracle of the incarnation, we are to go spread God’s light in the world. Please plan to attend the Epiphany service Tuesday night at 7PM. It will take the form of Evening Prayer.
Bible Study resumes—A great way to begin the new year is to decide to attend the midweek Bible study on Wednesday at 10AM each week. During this weekly study, we take an in-depth look at the upcoming scriptures for Sunday.
January Food Distribution—please bring any kind of dry pasta by Sun., Jan. 18 (spaghetti, elbow macaroni, rotini, penne, etc., ) and spaghetti sauce for our January food distribution, which will take place on Wed., January 21st from 3:30PM to 5PM.
Vestry nominations—Our congregational meeting this year will take place on Sunday, January 18th. At this time we will elect two new Vestry members. Elizabeth Heimbach and Becky Fisher have both offered to stand for election. Additional nominations can be made by contacting any member of the Vestry. Please make sure the person you would like to nominate is willing to run before you nominate.
