Today after the service, Coffee Hour will be our own version of the Moravian Candle Tea. During this coffee hour, we’ll eat some traditional Moravian food and learn about some Moravian customs.

St Peter’s will be providing the soup for the Port Royal Tree Lighting on Friday, December 12th. If you can help, please contact Barbara Wisdom at (804) 742-5224.

Choir Retreat, Sat. Dec. 13, 10am to rehearse Christmas music followed by lunch. New choir members are always welcome. Let Brad know if you would like to join the choir. 

“Singing Mary’s Song”, our Advent study, is being held Sunday mornings at 10am, through Dec. 14 in the Parish House. Mary’s song as recorded in Luke proclaimed deliverance and hope to a dark and fearful world. Come join us to explore her legacy for us today!

Christmas Party at the Everett’s house on Sunday, December 14th at 5PM. This gala covered dish dinner includes lots of delicious food, fellowship and singing. All are welcome.

Village Harvest distribution. Dec. 17. Please bring your donations by next Sunday.

Poinsettias for Dec. 21 and Christmas Eve – If you’d like to donate a poinsettia see the order form in your bulletin. Due Sun., Dec. 14th.

About our Eucharistic Prayer for Advent—Our Eucharistic Prayer during Advent will be Eucharistic Prayer 2 from Enriching our Worship 1. This Eucharistic Prayer contains the following mention of Mary. “You looked with favor upon Mary, your willing servant, that she might conceive and bear a son, Jesus the holy child of God,” lines particularly fitting for Advent.

“Now John was clothed with camel’s hair, with a leather belt around his waist, and he ate locusts and wild honey. He proclaimed, "The one who is more powerful than I is coming after me; I am not worthy to stoop down and untie the thong of his sandals. I have baptized you with water; but he will baptize you with the Holy Spirit.” – Mark 1:6-8
