Welcome to St Peter’s!  Our hope is that you will find God’s love present with you in this place and that you will return here often.

Our communion bread is gluten free.

The Prayers of the People today have been adapted from Intercessions for the Christian People:  Prayers of the People for Cycles, A, B, and C of the Roman, Episcopal, and Lutheran Lectionaries, edited by Gail Ramshaw.

Today at the Offertory, we will offer up the food we have brought to share with the hungry in Caroline County through the Caroline County Social Services food bank.

Today is also the last day to sign up for the ECM Crab and BBQ Dinner to be held on August 10, 4pm.

Please complete & return the Christian Ed survey today. You can also complete it online at churchsp.org.

Happy Birthday! –Peter Reynolds (July 11), Laura Carey (July 13).

Please join us immediately after this service for a cookout on the lawn, hosted by the Episcopal Church Men.  Everyone is welcome!

Thanks to all who provided lunch to FredCamp workers last week, Elizabeth Heimbach, Becky and Tucker Fisher, Catherine Hicks and Cookie and Johnny Davis.

Way to Go, St Peter’s!  We made almost $600 on July 4th by providing food for the Port Royal Independence Day celebration.  This money will be used to support Episcopal Church Women missions around the world.

We revised both the visitors’ and historical brochures for July 4. We have some copies in the back and also online at churchsp.org under newcomers.  There are also 7 copies of Forward Movement for July.

Next week the Gospel passage is the “Good Samaritan”, one of the most famous stories in the Bible and one that only appears in Luke. There is a review of it on churchsp.org this week.

Sending Out of the Seventy

“Go on your way. See, I am sending you out like lambs into the midst of wolves. Carry no purse, no bag, no sandals; and greet no one on the road. Whatever house you enter, first say, `Peace to this house!’ And if anyone is there who shares in peace, your peace will rest on that person; but if not, it will return to you…. Whenever you enter a town and its people welcome you, eat what is set before you; cure the sick who are there, and say to them, `The kingdom of God has come near to you.’”  – Luke 10:3-6, 8-9
