Welcome to St Peter’s!  Our hope is that you will find God’s love present with you in this place and that you will return here often to worship.

The flowers today are given in memory of Barbara and Jack Herald.

Happy Anniversary!  Howard and Millie Muhly (Aug. 2nd)

Morning Prayer Fun Fact—

“Canticle” is one of those funny words that you tend to see only in Episcopalian, Lutheran or Catholic orders of service.  A canticle is simply a song or hymn of praise, and in our Morning Prayer service, a canticle follows each of the scripture readings as a response to that reading.   The use of canticles in Morning Prayer dates back to the 1549 Prayer Book.  Our canticles today come from Enriching our Worship 1, a collection supplemental liturgical materials prepared by The Standing Liturgical Commission in 1997.

It’s school supply time.

Using the list provided from the Caroline County Dept of Social Services,  you can purchase school supplies for children in Caroline County.  Bring them to church and place them in the back pew, and Fred Pannell will deliver them to Social Services for you.

Please keep the mission team in your prayers as we prepare for our mission trip in August.  The Fisher Family, Eunice and Roger Key, Cookie and Johnny Davis, Elizabeth and Jim Heimbach, Wendy Gayle and Catherine Hicks will be helping to distribute clothes to 1000 school children on Staten Island the third week in August.

We have two internal projects that we could use some help and direction:  1. Church Directory  Would you like a traditional Church directory with pictures ? 2. A Yearbook with more casual pictures and coverage of events ?  3. Simply keep the existing listing ?  2. Church History.  We need to update Ralph Fall’s wonderful history as well as do some oral history of members to be archived for the future.  This is our lead article  online this week at churchsp.org on the front page but you can give your opinion and sign up to help on the back of the school supply form today.

Would you like to be a greeter/usher?   Please let Catherine– (540) 809-7489 –know.  Training will be provided!
