Welcome to St Peter’s! Our hope is that you will find God’s love present with you in this place and that you will return here often to worship.
The Jubilate today is Hymn 377, a paraphrase of Psalm 100. The Hymnal 1940 Companion tells us that “All People that on Earth Do Dwell is the earliest example of the metrical versions of the Psalms which played such a significant role in the church music of England and America from 1560 to nearly 1850… Old Hundredth, by Louis Bourgeois, is the only tune which has been preserved intact throughout the entire history of metrical psalmody and modern hymnody, and as such deservedly ranks at the head of all Protestant church music.” We also use this hymn tune for our Doxology every Sunday.
Food Drive. Please bring nonperishable food items to help the many families in the area who are in need. Next Sunday, July 3rd, we will be bringing the food up during the offering as one of the gifts we bring to the altar.
Happy Birthday! Ben Hicks and Sherrie Allwine, June 28. Happy Anniversary! The Wicks June 26; The Carpenters, June 29.
