2011 was an exciting year for our ECW!  In order to broaden our outreach and ministry, we branched out in several new directions.  This past year saw the formation of an evening ECW group of dedicated women who wanted to participate more fully in our activities but couldn’t attend afternoon meetings.  They have already launched some new ministries that widened the scope of our service to the community. (See attachment for details).

Also last year, in order to commemorate the 175th anniversary of St. Peter’s, we created our first ever cookbook.  Barbara Wisdom and her capable committee - Cindy Fields, Betty Kunstmann and Vivian McDonald, collected, collated and published a wide variety of delicious recipes from members past and present, and friends of the church, along with interesting information, photos (courtesy of Ben Hicks) and scripture quotations.  They created a wonderful keepsake and fitting tribute to our anniversary, and deserve our deepest appreciation.

In October, in lieu of our usual yard sale, we decided to participate in the Bowling Green Harvest Festival, where we sold baked goods, jewelry and cookbooks.  This effort earned $545.00 for our charities.

In addition to these new ventures, our regular ministries continued to thrive.  The all-important Altar Guild continues its vital ministry under the capable direction of Crystal Pannell.  Eunice Key and her amazing helpers, Betty Kunstmann, Cookie Davis, Cindy Fields, Catherine Hicks and Helmut Linne-vonBerg continue their very profitable Village Dinners.  Many thanks to all of them for their hard work, which last year earned $2,433.00!  (See attachment for complete list of outreach).

Betty Kunstmann, our very capable UTO Chairman, collected a total of $676.00 from the Spring and Fall Ingathering.  The women also continue to host the monthly coffee hours at St. Peter’s.

In June, we enjoyed a trip to “Belmont”, home and art gallery of Gari Melchers and a luncheon at Amy’s Café.

In October, we had a Silent Auction and dinner, courtesy of Johnny Davis, who lent us his “barn” for the party.

We ended the year with our annual Christmas luncheon at Hobb’s Hole Golf Course Restaurant, a fitting end to a great year!

Throughout the year, we have had the unfailing leadership and support of our priest, Catherine Hicks.  She has enthusiastically entered into the spirit of all of our activities, and has our heartfelt thanks.  We also must acknowledge the help of what used to be called our “men’s auxillary”, but now is the Episcopal Church Men’s Group!  In addition, to their own work, they always stand ready to pitch in whenever we need them.  We do appreciate it; thank you all.

It is our prayerful hope that 2012 will be a year of even greater accomplishments for St. Peter’s ECW.  With God’s help and guidance we know we will succeed.
