ECW Evening Minutes May 24, 2011
The Evening ECW met on Tuesday, May 24, 2011.
Linda Beck, Terri Harrison, Cindy Fields, Barbara Wisdom, Carolyn Duke, Elizabeth Heimbach, Phyllis Sue Carpenter and Catherine Hicks attended. Thanks to Elizabeth Heimbach for hosting this meeting.
Our main task was to complete the planning for the community dinner to be held on Saturday, June 4, 2011 on the Town Green for the residents of Port Royal.
The men will help set up and clean up, and will bring the grills to cook the hot dogs. Linda Beck will work out the details with the men’s group that has recently formed.
The menu for the dinner will be hot dogs, pasta salad, baked beans, and watermelon. We are planning for 75 people.
All of the women will bring brownies for the dessert.
Responsibilities for purchasing needed items were divided among the group.
Other projects—The Evening ECW will work with the Ruritans to provide food for the July 4 celebrations in Port Royal. The proceeds from the food sale will be split between the ECW and the Ruritans.
Several of the women will provide money to pay for macaroni and cheese for the Caroline High School Baccalaureate. Either Cindy or Eunice will deliver the macaroni to the school on the evening of June 3.
We discussed FredCamp. This group will be working on two residences in Port Royal during the first week of July. We talked about possible ways to support the two groups who will be working on the residences.
The group discussed the possibility of doing something for the residents of the area nursing homes. Everyone was enthusiastic about this idea.
Barbara Wisdom gave an update on the status of the cook book.
Organization of Evening ECW—Consideration of and general agreement on the idea of rotating being in charge of the meeting each month among the members, and staying in communication with the morning ECW so that all will be aware of current projects and activities. All ECW money would go into the one ECW account with Crystal Pannell as the treasurer.
Next meeting, Monday, June 13th at 7PM. Elizabeth Heimbach will host.
