Fellowship Committee

The Fellowship Committee's first program put in place was “Fellowship Dinners” and the dinners are being held during January, February and March and then again in August, September and October. Families are given the option to sign up and to specify if they will be dining at anothers home or if they will be the host for a dinner(s). Participants are assigned which dish to bring. The host family holds the option to invite additional guest especially in case there are newcomers in the church or community.

MONTHLY COFFEE

On the first Sunday of each month, all parishioners are invited to “coffee” in the parish house directly following the Sunday church service. “Coffee” is a misnomer because what may have started as a light snack is sometimes more like a lunch. Preparing the “coffee” food and drinks is a volunteer activity and a schedule is established early in the year so that families will know who is responsible for each.

 Here are two examples:

1. December, 2010's Coffee hour’s highlight was the vegetable and beef soup prepared by master chef Bill Wick and the fruit cake and other delights.

2. April, 2011's coffee hour.Cookie and Cindy prepared a spread - venision, pasta, chicken salad sandwiches, cantouloupe and two types of cake.  The smell of venison cooking wafted in the air as we began Sunday School

MOVIE NIGHT

Eunice organized the first Movie Night for Aug 12, 2011 at Cindy Fields home.  About 9 people gathered at Cindy Field's home to watch a film called "Indescribable". It is one of four films that tells the story of God's goodness grace and love.

Part 1 "Indescribable" was made in conjunction with NASA photos from the Hubble Space Telescope and manned missions detailing God's infinite glory. Night after night they remind us of just how small we are, and how huge God is. Looking out into the far reaches of the universe, we find a seemingly expanse of mystery and wonder, intricately fashioned by a God of unfathomable size and power. We peered deep into our own galaxy and beyond to the Pliades and the Scorpion Galaxy among others.

"Movie Night" is intended to be a once a month happening. The group is making a list of possible films for the future both of the Christian and non-Christian variety. Two films can be presented at once in Cindy's homes. If you have suggested films to watch contact Eunice

TRANSPORTATION IN NEED

This was a project of the ECM on Aug 13, 2011

The group suggested a new ministry for St Peter's informally titled "Transporation in Need." The idea was proposed by Mike Newman to provide an active list of parishioners that could be available to transport people to medical appointments and other needs such as shopping for food. People could email or call this list of volunteers ideally ahead of their need for transportation. The decision was made to announce it in Church on Aug 14 and first gather a list of volunteers who would specify days during the week they could serve and then formulate details of how the program would work in practice before setting a start date. The list was ready for Sunday, Sept. 4, 2011 and implemented
