Evening ECW Meeting
June 11, 2012
Present: Catherine Hicks, Carolyn Duke, Barbara Wisdom
Absent: Elizabeth Heimbach, Linda Beck, Phyllis Carpenter, Cindy Fields, Terri Harrison
Barbara Wisdom opened the meeting with rattling the money jar and with a prayer.
Barbara read a devotional about the Golden Rule.
Catherine will be the Seminary June 18-22. She can be reached via cell phone if necessary.
Catherine discussed plans for the 4th of July celebration in Port Royal. Details are under new business.
Catherine discussed JoySong which will be held on July 15, time to be determined. Gospel/religious music and a Bluegrass Band will perform.
Old Business:
Community dinner on June 9 was discussed. About 25 people, plus people 12 from St. Peter’s, attended the dinner. The gas card was popular with the adults. Hector won the cash card. The children played with the bubbles and on the playground equipment. Many thanks to those who helped with this event.
New Business:
· Catherine would like to change our ECW meeting day to either Tuesday or Wednesday evening. Do you have a preference?
· Our group will not meet in July and August
· Volunteers are needed to help out on July 4th. Barbara will sell Cookbooks. Barbara discussed with Eunice about the evening ECW selling ice cream cones. Main question is whether or not we’ll have enough volunteers.
· Catherine gave additional information about the Mission Trip to Staten Is., NY. Volunteers include: Catherine and Ben, Jim and Elizabeth, the Fisher family.
· We’ll hold our PR Community Dinner in October, date TBD.
Our next meeting will be in September at 7:00. Date TBD.
