ECW Meeting, Nov 29, 2012

29 November 2012 ECW Minutes

The meeting was called to order with the rattling of the Penny Jar, reading of our Mission Statement  then followed by Eunice Key’s Inspirational Reading from Jeremiah.

The Minutes of the 19 September meeting were read and approved.  There was no formal meeting in October.

Crystal Pannell reported a balance of $5472.40 in the treasury.  The restoration of the bookstand cost $210.00.

President’s Report:

Marion reported receiving a thank you note from Jackson-Field home for our donation in September.

She also received information from Patrice Delano who is in the “inner circle of friends” about their trauma center mission.

Rector’s Report:

Catherine reported on her retreat in Massachusetts and what an experience it is to be in that silent atmosphere.

She reported that Roger and Lamar Key along with their relative Travis would make another mission trip to New York.

She also told us the St. Peter’s pageant would be held on Sunday the 23rd and there will be a Christmas Eve service on the 24th at 5 PM.

Altar Guild:

Crystal reported the Altar is in good shape.

Eunice said that she is still working on the red hangings.

Old Business:

Marion asked if we wanted to participate this next year in the Bowling Green Harvest Festival. We decided we would, but would not sell baked goods. Marion reported that we made $375.62 this year.

Our trip to the labyrinth at St. Mary’s Whitechapel was discussed.  The general feeling was that it was a good experience but that more background in the philosophy and a smaller group would be beneficial.

New Business:

Marion reported our annual ECW/bible study luncheon would be at Hobbs Hole in Tappahannock on the 19th.   Everyone interested is invited.

We made the Disbursement of Funds.  Several new ones were suggested and approved. They include: United Brethren Church, Young Life, and Episcopal Relief Development. The complete list of disbursements is attached.

We then discussed possible Fund Raisers for 2013.

The Closing Prayer was said by all, followed by refreshments provided by Eunice.

Betty Kunstmann,

Secretary
